Embryo Heart

Question
What are the three angioblastic cords that develop during week three? splanchnic mesoderm
What week are heartbeat and blood flow first detected? Week 4
These are transportred by embrionic folding to ventral portion of neck and then thorax. endocardial heart tubes
When the endocardial heart tubes fuse to a single tube, what does it then become? Endothelial lining of the heart
What structure surrounds the endocardial tube? primordial myocardium (from splancnic mesoderm)
What does the primordial myocarium become? Myocardium
In early development of the heart, name the divisions caudal to cranial. Sinus venosus, atrium, atriventricular canal, ventricle (L), bulbus cordis, truncus arteriosus
What is the function of the sinus venosus? Receives blood and develops right and left horns
How is the sinus venosus fixed into place? Septum Transversum
In eary development, does the atria have both right and left? Yes
In early development, is there a left and right ventricle? As far as divisions go, just a left
(T/F) The bulbus cordis has a distal and a proximal part? True
The proximal part of the bulbus cordis is... trabeculated portio of the right ventricle
The conus cordis which are the outflow tracts of both ventricles in early deveopment are from... Distal bulbus Cordis
What is the function of the truncus arteriosus? Distributes blood
What is fixed in place by pharyngeal arches, in early development of the heart? Truncus arteriosus
How is the bulboventricular loop developed? By the rapid growth of the bulbus cordis and ventricle (Causes atrium and sinus venosus to lie dorsal to truncus arteriosus, bulbus cordis and ventricle)
What is the purpose of the endocardial cushoins? form dorsal and ventral walls anddivide AV canal into left and right canals
The atrium is partitioned into two sections, what are they called? Septum primum and septum secumdum
Which septa is from the roof of the common atria? Septum primum
The atrium are partitioned by twp septa, What teo foramen are from the septum primum? Foramen primum and foramen seundum
What foramen is derived from the septum secundum? foramen ovale
Which side of the atrium is associated with the sinus venosus? Right
Which structure of the atrium has a right and left horn? Sinus venosus
Which horn of the sinus venosus opens to the right atrium and receives all blood from the head and neck through the superior vena cava? Right horn
Where does the developing inferior vena cava receive blood from? Placenta and caudal regions
