Matter Anything that takes up space and has mass or weight
Energy Anything that can make something move Energy does not take up space and has no mass or weight
Properties The characteristics that help to identify matter: color, size, shape, smell, and weight are common properties.
Solid The form of matter that can be seen, has a definite shape, takes up space, and has weight or mass.
Liquid The form of matter that does not have a definite shape, but takes the shape of its container, and has weight.
Gas The form of matter that is usually invisible, does not have a definite shape, and has weight.
Evaporate To change from a liquid into a gas

Chemistry The study of matter. It is the study of what matter is, how matter changes, and what the properties of matter are.
