What Is a Plant?

QuestionAnswer
Chlorophyll a green pigment found in the chloroplasts of plants, algae, and some bacteria.
Photosynthesis How plants get their food.
Tissues groups of similar cells that perform a specific function in an organism.
Chloroplasts The structure which food is made.
Vacuole A large storage sac that can be expand and shrink.
Plants need what? In order to survive they must obtain water and other nutrients from their surroundings.
Cuticle One adaption that helps a plant reduce water loss is a waxy, waterproof layer.
Vascular Tissue a system of tubelike structures inside a plant through which water, minerals, and food move.
