Chlorophyll Is green pigment found in the chloroplasts of plants, algae, and some bacteria
Photosynthesis Process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy into chemical energy
Tissue Groups of similar cells that preform a specific function
Chloroplast In plant and algal cells (Food Is Made)
Vacuole Large storage sac that expands and shrinks (stores water, waste, and food.) (Will wild/die if to much water)
Cuticle Helps a plant reduce water loss. Also is waxy waterproof layer
Vascular Tissue System of tube like structures inside a plant
Nonvascular Plant Plants that lack vascular tissue for transporting materials
Rhizoid Root-like structures that anchor the moss and absorb water and nutrients
Vascular Plant Plants with true vascular tissue
Phloem Vascular tissue which how food moves
Xylem Helps provide support and that conducts water and nutrients upward from the roots
Frond A ferns Leaf
Pollen Are tiny structures that contain the cells that will later become sperm cells
Seed A structure that contains a tiny plant used as a protective cover
Gymnosperm A seed plant that produces naked seeds
Angiosperm Flowering plants
Cotyledon A seed leaf
Monocot Are angiosperms except only have one seed leaf
Dicot Produce seeds with two seed leaves
