| Chlorophyll | A green pigment found in the chloroplasts of plants, and some plant-like bacteria and are a product of photosynthesis. |
| Photosynthesis | The process of a plant converting sunlight and carbon dioxide into food and oxygen for the plant. |
| Tissue | Groups of similar cells that perform a specific function in an organism. |
| Chloroplasts | Structures similar in appearance to green jelly beans where chlorophyll is made and stored. |
| Vacuole | A large storage sac that can expand and shrink. It can store substances like water, waste, and food. |
| Cuticle | A waxy, waterproof layer on a plant to retain water. |
| Vascular tissue | A system of tubelike structures in a plant which carries water, minerals, and food throughout the plant. |
