The Vocab for Lesson one on Plants

TermDefinition
Chlorophyll A green pigment found in the chloroplast that captures the sun's energy.
Photosynthesis When a plant uses the gas carbon dioxide and water to make oxygen and food.
Tissue Groups of similar cells that perform specific functions(skin, muscle, onion, celery)
Cloroplast The organelles where photosynthesis takes place.
Vacuole Storage for water, waste, and food that is inside a plant cell.
Cuticle The waxy water proof covering on a plant.
Vascular Tissue Tube like structures filled with food and water partials that run through a plant.
