Seasons
| Term | Definition |

| Seasons | one of the four periods of a year spring, summer, autumn, and winter |
| Rotation | the act of circling around the an axis center |
| Revolution | the movement of one object around another object |
| Ellipse | a closed plane curved generated by a plant |
| Solstice | when the sun reaches the highest (summer)or lowest (winter) point in the sky at noon, marked by the longest and shortest days |
| Equniox | the time or day (twice a year) at which the sun crosses the celestial equator , when day and night are equal length (about Sep. 22 and March 20) |
| Waxing | the moon at any time after a new moon and before a full moon |
| Waning | the moon at any time after full moon and before new moon |
| Gibbous | a moon in between a half moon but less than a full moon |
| Cresent | a moon that is a thin curved shape |
| Solar Eclipse | an eclipse in which the sun is blocked by the moon |
| Lunar Eclipse | an eclipse in which the moon appears in which the moon darkened as it passes into the earth shadow. |
