| source | a place where a stream or river begins |
| groundwater | water, rain, and melting snow that seeps into the ground and is stored beneath earths surface |
| runoff | precipitation that runs off the ground |
| transpiration | release of water from a plant's leaves into the air |
| precipitation | liquid or solid water that returns to the earth fro the clouds |
| condensation | return of vapor to a liquid state by cooling |
| evaporation | a process where by the heat of the sun changes the water on Earth's surface from a liquid to a gas |
