| Protozoans | Animal-like protists |
| Pseudopods | Temporary bulges of the cell. Means "false foot". Forms when cytoplasm flows toward one location and the rest of the follows. |
| Contractile Vacuole | A structure that collects and expels excess water from the cell. |
| Cilia | Hairlike structures that move and sweep food into a protozoan. |
| Algae | Autotrophs, can be multi or unicellular, and use pigments to capture the suns energy. |
| Pigments | Chemicals that produce color. Can be many different colors. |
| Spores | A tiny cell that is able to grow into a new organism. |
| Euglenoids | Autotrophs that produce food using the suns energy. Will act as heterotrophs if no sunlight is available. |
