Prostists

QuestionAnswer
Protist a kingdom or large grouping that comprises mostly single-celled organisms.
Protozoan a single-celled microscopic animal-like protist
Psuedopod means "false foot" they form when cytoplasm flows flows toward one location and the rest of the organism follows
Contractile Vacuole a structure that collects and expels excess water from the cell
Cilia hair-like projections that beat with a wavelike motion, moving the organism, they also sweep food into the organism
Algea are autotrophs, can be multicellular or unicellular, and use pigments to capture the suns energy.
Pigment chemicals that produce color
Spore a tiny cell that is able to grow into a new organism
