Weather tools, storms, and clouds
| Term | Definition |

| Thermosphere | the part of the atmosphere where the space shuttle orbits |
| Stratosphere | the part of the atmosphere where airplanes fly |
| Mesosphere | the part of the atmosphere where rock pieces from space burn up |
| Troposphere | the part of the atmosphere where weather occurs |
| Exosphere | the upper limit to our atmosphere |
| Barometer | measures air pressure |
| Anemometer | measures wind speed |
| Wind Vane | measures the direction of the wind |
| Hygrometer | measures the amount of water vapor in the air |
| Rain Gauge | measures how much rain has fallen |
| Thermometer | measures the temperature |
| Weather Map | shows the data collected by the other tools |
| Cirrus Clouds | thin white clouds with fuzzy edges and look like feathers. |
| Cumulus Clouds | clouds that are large, puffy and thick |
| Stratus Clouds | clouds that cover the sky and may cause rain or snow |
| Hurricane | a storm that forms over oceans and cause strong winds |
| Tornado | A spinning funnel-shaped column of air that touches the ground |
| Blizzard | A winter storm that has low temperatures and lots of blowing snow |
