QuestionAnswer
ATP High energy molecule found in every cell.
ADP An organic compound that is composed of adenosine.
Chemosynthesis The synthesis of organic compounds by bacteria or other living organisms using energy derived from reactions involving inorganic chemicals, typically in the absence of sunlight
Photosynthesis The process in which plants take sunlight and proteins from the ground to collect food for themselves.
Chlorophyll Green pigment in plants
Thylakoid Flattened sacs in chlorophyll
Light-dependent reactions This process uses light energy to create new molecules
Light-independent reactions Converts darkness into protein
Photosystem a process in which chlorophyll absorbs light energy for photosynthesis
Electron Transport chain The site/place of the mitochondria
ATP synthase where an enzyme creates a molecule to store things.
Calvin Cycle a set of chemical reaction that happens in Chloroplast during photosynthesis
Cellular respiration set of metabolic reactions
Aerobic uses oxygen to start cellular respiration
Glycolysis breaks down glucose in cells.
Anaerobic to free oxygen
Krebs cycle series of chemical reactions , apart of the process of aerobic cell metabolism, by which glucose and other molecules are broken down in the presence of oxygen into carbon dioxide and water to release chemical energy in the form of ATP.
Fermentation a chemical breakdown of a substance
lactic acid comes from the process of fermentaion
