| Fossil Fuels | A nonrenewable resource formed from the remains of prehistoric plants and animals (Coal, Oil, Natural Gas) |
| Weathering | The wearing away of rocks by wind, water, or ice |
| Erosion | The movement of sediment by wind, water, or ice |
| Deposition | A process by which wind or water drops sediment in a new location |
| Sediment | Small particles of rock, soil, sand, or shell deposited by water, wind, or ice |
| Sedimentary Rocks | A type of rock formed when layers of sediment are pressed together and harden over time |
| Cementation | Sticking together like glue |
| Compaction | The pressing of sediments |
| Canyon | A valley between steep cliff sides formed by running water, such as a river or stream |
| Delta | Soil which is deposited at the mouth of a river, usually in a triangular shape |
| Glacier | A large mass of slowly moving ice and snow that carves new features and deposits sediments |
| Landform | A physical feature on Earth’s surface |
| Sand Dune | A hill of sand created by the wind |
| V-Shaped Valley | A low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it |
| U-Shaped Valley | A low, rounded area of land between hills or mountains caused by glacial erosion |
