TermDefinition
Heredity The passing of physical characteristics from parents to offspring.
Trait A characteristic such as height or color.
Genetics The scientific study of heredity
Fertilization The joining of sperm and egg.
Purebred The offspring of many generations that have the same trait.
F1 generation First generation.
F2 generation Second generation.
P generation Parents.
Gene factors that control a trait.
Alleles different forms of a gene.
Hybrid An organism that has two different alleles for a trait.
Mendel The father of genetics.
