myel/o means bone marrow ex: myeloma- means cancerous tumor of the bone marrow
phleb/o means vein ex: phlebotomy- means the study of veins
splen/o means spleen ex: splenodynia- means pain in the spleen
thromb/o means clot ex: thrombogenic- means capable of producing a blood clot
thym/o means thymus ex: thymectomy- means surgical removal of the thymus
tonsill/o means tonsils ex: tonsillitis- means inflammation of the tonsil
-penia means deficiency ex: neutropenia- means deficiency in neutrophils
coagul/o means coagulation ex: anticoagulant-means drug that prevents coagulation of blood
lymph/o means lymph ex: lymphocyte-means lymph cell
