| molecule | The smallest unit of a compound: it is made of atoms |
| solid | a state of matter that has a definite size and shape |
| liquid | a state of matter that keeps its volume but takes on the shape of the container |
| gas | a state of matter that changes its shape and volume |
| evaporation | the process of a liquid changing into a gas |
| Condensation | the process of a gas changing into a liquid |
| mixture | a physical combination of two or more things |
| solution | a special type of mixture where two or more things are evenly distributed or dissolved |
