Mass Measures how much matter in in a substance
Grams,g The basic metric unit of mass
Volume A measure of the space that matter occupies
cubic centimeters A metric unit of volume equal to milliliters
milliliters ml A metric unit of volume
displacement A procedure used to measure volume of a solid object by placing it in a known amount of liquid
matter Anything that has mass and takes up space
substance Any form of matter that is uniform throughout and has consistent properties
physical property Characteristic that can be observed or measured without changing the substance, for example color, melting point, or conductivity.
density The mass of a substance divided by its volume
relative density The comparison of the density of one material as it relates to another; frequently the comparison is to the density of water (as in sinking or floating).

classify/classification Sort or put into groups based on similar and dissimilar physical, chemical, or biological characteristics
