| NOUNS | A noun is the name of anything. |
| Proper Noun | Names of people or places. Usually starts with a capital letter. |
| Common Noun: | Can be Concrete, Abstract or Collective: A concrete noun is something that is physical. An abstract noun is something that expresses ideas. A collective noun name a complete group of set of things. |
| ADJECTIVES: Pre-modifying & Post-modifying | Describe a noun, either before or after. :) |
| Descriptive Adjective | It describes things |
| Evaluative Adjective | Adjectives with an opinion or feeling |
| Comparative Adjective | Adjectives used to compare things such as 'bigger' (er) |
| Superlative Adjective | The best of something. For example 'most wonderful'. |
| VERBS | A verb is a doing word. |
| Dynamic Verb | A dynamic verb is one that relates to action. |
| Stative Verb | A stative verb tells you about the state of something. Such as 'is', 'am', 'believe', 'know'. |
| Auxiliary/Primary | These word often come before verbs such as 'to be', 'to have', and 'to do'. |
| Modal Verbs | They imply what could happen- Can, could, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must. :) |
| Imperatives | The imperative form of the word gives instructions or commands. |
| ADVERBS | A word that modifies a verb. |
| Adverb of Manner | Can tell us they way how something is done. |
| Adverb of Time | Describe when an action happened. |
| Adverbs of Place | Describe where an action takes place |
| Adverb of Intensity | Some adverbs don't modify verbs, they modify adjectives. For example 'he walked very slowly because he was very tired'. It intensifies the adjective. |
