Energy Transfers
| Term | Definition |

| Law of Conservation of Energy | States that energy can be transferred or transformed to one another, but can't be created nor can it be destroyed. |
| Energy transfer | When energy moves from one object to another without changing form. |
| Work | The transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move in direction of the force. |
| Energy transformation | When one form of energy is converted into another form of energy. |
| Open system | A system that exchanges matter or energy with the environment. |
| Closed system | A system that doesn't exchange matter or energy with the environment. |
| Renewable Energy Resource | An energy resource that is replaced as fast, if not, faster than its used. |
| Nonrenewable Energy Resources | An energy resource that is available only in limited amounts and is used faster than it reproduces. |
