Energy Transfers

Law of Conservation of Energy States that energy can be transferred or transformed to one another, but can't be created nor can it be destroyed.
Energy transfer When energy moves from one object to another without changing form.
Work The transfer of energy that occurs when a force makes an object move in direction of the force.
Energy transformation When one form of energy is converted into another form of energy.
Open system A system that exchanges matter or energy with the environment.
Closed system A system that doesn't exchange matter or energy with the environment.
Renewable Energy Resource An energy resource that is replaced as fast, if not, faster than its used.
Nonrenewable Energy Resources An energy resource that is available only in limited amounts and is used faster than it reproduces.
