The Milky Way The galaxy that our star system is a part of
Nebula A collection of gas, rock and dust floating in space. Many are larger than star systems.

Astronomy the study of space. Also known as astrophysics
Astronomical Unit (AU) the distance between Earth and the Sun.
Light Year ( ly) a unit of distance. The distance light travels in one year. 9,500,000,000,000 km per year
Parsec Unit of distance=3.26 light years
Alpha Centauri The nearest star to our Sun.
