Scientific method

Scientific methiod

Defined scientific method? The scientific method is a series of steps used to answer a question.
How do scientist gather information in step 1? Scientist gather information by observations and asking a question.
How do scientist make observations? they make observations by using 1 or more of the 5 senses.
Defined Hypothesis A hypothesis is a possible answer to the question, and it uses the word effect.
defined prediction A prediction is a IF THEN statement stating in advance the result of the experiment.
Defined variable A variable is what is being studied
What is the difference between a control group and a experimental group? The difference between the control group and experimental group is The control group is used for comparison and the experimental group is when the viable is being changed.
Explain the difference of an independent variable and a dependent variable. The difference of a independent variable and a dependent variable is That The independent variable is what is change in an experiment and the dependent variable is what changes due to the independent variable.
What are scientist doing when they preform a experiment? scientist are answering a question or they are solving a problem?
Why is it important to do an experiment more then once? Should they have a large or small number of subjects? Why It is important to do a experiment many times and have many subjects is because it deceased the margin of error.
what do scientist do when they draw conclusions They state their results, see if their hypothesis Explian why or why not.
What happens during the communication step of the scientific method? They may repeat the experiment or they use lab reports, presentations and articles to explain their research
Explain the controlled experiment? A controlled experiment test one variable at a time, and contains a control group experimental group and a variable
Explain the difference between a theory and law. The difference of theory and law is that law is a proven fact over time and theory is the current explanation .
