mass the amount of matter in a substance (grams); an object's mass doesn't change
meter stick or ruler a straight device used to measure length
spring scale used to measure weight or the pull of gravity on objects (force); measures in newtons
triple beam balance a device used to find the mass of objects; measures in grams
microscope Is an instrument that magnifies very tiny things in order to make them appear larger.
