Vocabulary Words

Dissolve When substances form a solution (ex. Sugar forming a solution with water making sugar water)
Maintain To retain or keep properties
Mixture A combination of two or more substances which maintain their own physical properties (ex. salad, sand & salt, iron filings & rice)
Soluble The ability to be dissolved (ex. sugar is soluble in water but ground pepper is not soluble in water)
Solution A mixture in which one substance dissolves in another (ex. Kool-Aid, tea, salt water)
Classify To arrange in groups or categories according to certain standards
Relative Density Whether an object sinks or floats
