Pollination When pollen grains are transported from the anther to the stigma
Dormancy A period in an organism's life cycle when growth, development and physical activity are temporarily stopped
Stamen Consists of the filament and the anther
Petal colorful and often scented part of the flower that attracts pollinators
Sepal green, leaf-like structure that protects the budding flower
Pistil Contains the stigma, style and ovary
Fertilization When pollen reaches the ovule. When this occurs, the ovary grows into the fruit or the vegetable.
Germination The development of a plant from a seed or spore after a period of dormancy; to begin to grow
