The structure of the human digestive system

the mouth in the mouth the food is chewed and mixed with saliva
the oesophagus the oesophagus is the tube that carries food to the stomach
the liver the liver produces a substance called bile which helps break down fat
the stomach in the stomach the food is churned and mixed with acid and digestive juice
the pancreas the pancreas produces digestive enzymes
the large intestine the large intestine absorbs water and leaves undigested food which is removed as faeces
the small intestine in the small intestine food is digested and then absorbed through the wall of the small intestine into the blood
the anus the faeces is removed from the body through the anus
