THe Solar System: Planets

QuestionAnswer
Planet A large, round or spherical object orbiting a star
Terrestrial planet One of the four small, rocky planets closest to the Sun. These are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.
Gas giant planet One of the four planets that are made of gas. These are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Dwarf planet A round object that orbits the Sun but does not orbit a planet
Asteroid belt The band of asteroids that lies between the terrestrial and gas giant planets
Force A push or pull
Meteor Light made by a meteoroid as it passes through the atmosphere
Moon Body that revolves around a planet
