Ecological Role or Niche An organism's way of life in an ecosystem

Food Chain/Food Web A diagram that shows the flow of energy through organisms in an ecosystem
Habitat The place where an organism usually lives
Parasite An organism that feeds on an organism of another species
Population A group of organisms that feeds on an organism of another species
Predator An organism that eats all or part of another organism
Prey An organism that is killed and eaten by another organism
Producers An organism that can make its own food
Decomposers An organism that feeds by breaking down organic matter from dead organisms
Species extinction When all organisms of a single species die
Sustain ability The ability of an ecosystem or process to renew and provide resources for a population of organisms indefinitely
Symbosis A relationship in which two different organisms live in close association with each other (Mutualism, Commensalism, and Parasitism)
