Emergent Literacy vs. Reading Readiness | Emergent Literacy is becoming literate from birth; Reading Readiness is the way of the past which would involve students to master a set of skills prior to learning to read. |
Functional-Formal Learning | Today's Approach: Students INFORMALLY learn through interactions, modeling and exploration with written language Past Approach: Students learn only from formal teaching and monitoring (formal assessments). |
