Key weather vocab

Latent Heat heat required to change phases without a change in temperature
Dew point When the condensation rate equals the evaporation rate
relative humidity The amount of moisture in the air compared to how much the air can hold; shown in percentages
condensation nuclei tiny particles required to make clouds form by sticking to water molecules
adiabatic cooling heat reduction through a change in air pressure
advective cooling the transfer of heat by a horizontal air mass
coalescence water droplets form together to make bigger water droplets and fall as raindrops.
supercooling cooling something beyond its freezing point WITHOUT a phase change
cloud seeding the process of using rockets to make moisture in the atmosphere coalesce and fall as rain.
