| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Latent Heat | heat required to change phases without a change in temperature |
| Dew point | When the condensation rate equals the evaporation rate |
| relative humidity | The amount of moisture in the air compared to how much the air can hold; shown in percentages |
| condensation nuclei | tiny particles required to make clouds form by sticking to water molecules |
| adiabatic cooling | heat reduction through a change in air pressure |
| advective cooling | the transfer of heat by a horizontal air mass |
| coalescence | water droplets form together to make bigger water droplets and fall as raindrops. |
| supercooling | cooling something beyond its freezing point WITHOUT a phase change |
| cloud seeding | the process of using rockets to make moisture in the atmosphere coalesce and fall as rain. |
