| Term | Definition |

| Latent Heat | The heat required to convert a solid into a liquid or vapor. |
| Dew point | The temperature in the atmosphere that causes droplets of condensation to form. |
| Relative Humidity | The amount of water vapor in the air as a percentage. |
| Condensation nuclei | Small particles that water vapor condenses on. |
| Adiabiactic cooling | Process that reduces heat through a change of air pressure. |
| Advective cooling | Temperature transfer in the atmosphere due to the movement of a horizontal air mass. |
| Coalescence | When different elements join together and become unified. |
| Supercooling | Cooling below an objects freezing point. |
| Cloud seeding | A way of changing the amount of precipitation that falls from clouds. |
