How does Earth´s lithosphere change over time?

Sea-floor Spreading When magma protrudes out of a crack in a mid-ocean ridge and forms new crust which pushes the older oceanic crust away from the ridge.
Divergent Plate Boundary The place where two tectonic plates move apart from each other.
Mid-Ocean Ridge A large underwater mountain range in the center of the ocean.
