DP-Health Care

TermDefinition
Medicare Medical care provided to people over the age of 65. Helps subsidizes costs for doctors visits, perscriptions and treatments.
Medicade Medical care that is available for the lower income families that can't afford private or individual insurance. Run by the federal government through the state government.
Veterans Administration Much like medicare and medicade but for war veterans. Helps combat medical expenses. Government run.
FDA Government run agency that regulates medical products such as pharmaceutical drugs.
Clintons health care proposals Clinton advocated for affordable and accessible healthcare for everyone in the US. He proposed that employers could insure their employees but that idea was rejected as fast as it was proposed. Clinton also suggested a heavier tax on tobacco too.
Obama-care End discrimination in healthcare. prevent extra costs for extra services. tax credits to help people buy insurance.
