Chapter 3 Lesson 3

TermDefinition
Plates Are different pieces that are broken up on the earth's crust.
Divergent boundary Is when plates move away from each other.
Convergent boundary Is when plates come together.
Transform boundary Is when plates slip past each other.
Plate tectonics Is sea-floor spreading, earth's plates, and plate motions in a single theory.
Faults Are breaks in the Earth's crust where rocks have slipped past each other.
Rift valley When pieces of the Earth's crust diverge on land, it creates a a deep valley called a rift valley.
