What is Rigor Mortis? The stiffening of the muscles after death
What is Algor Mortis ? The cooling of the body after death
What is Livor Mortis? The pooling of the blood in the lowest part of the body after death
What factors SPEED UP rigor mortis? Warm temperatures, low body fat, high activity level
What factors SLOW down rigor mortis? Cold temperatures, high body fat, low activity level
What factors SPEED UP algor mortis? Cold temperatures, wind, body found in water, body found without clothing, low body fat
What factors SLOW DOWN algor mortis? Warm temperatures, body buried in soil, body found with layers of clothing, high body fat
What factor SPEEDS UP livor mortis? Warm temperatures
At what rate does the body cool after death? ~ 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour.
