When does an earthquake occur? An earthquake occurs when the large pieces of the earth's surface move against each other.
When are violent earthquakes caused? Violent earthquakes are caused when there are large movements.
What are seismic waves? Seismic waves are the rolling movements.
What is an epicentre? An epicentre is the place where seismic waves start.
How long does it take for a seismic wave to travel around the earth? It takes about twenty minutes for a seismic wave to travel around the earth.
