Foliated Metamorphic rocks that have their grains arranged in parallel layers or bands.
Non-foliated The mineral grains in these rocks are arranged randomly and do not split into layers.
Which two rocks are helpful? Marble and Slate because Marble are fine and can be cut into thin slabs or carved and Slate splits easily into flat pieces.
How can any rock change into metamorphic rock? Heat and Pressure deep beneath Earth's surface.
Which rocks is nonfliated? Sandstone to Quartzite, and Marble.
Which rocks is Foliated? Granite to Gneiss, Shale to Slate, and schist.
How are geologists classify metamorphic rocks?
