deposit an amount of rock or soil that has been laid down in an area
root hair a very small part of a plant root that takes water and nutrients from the soil
absorb to take in matter or energy
nutrients a substance such as a fat, a protein, or a carbohydrate that a living thing needs to survive
microorganism an organism that is too small for people to see with only their eyes
