Cell Division
| Term | Definition |

| Cell Cycle | A cycle of growth, development, and division for cells. |
| Interphase | The period during the cell cycle of a cell's growth and development. |
| Sister Chromatid | Structures that make up a duplicated chromosome and are held together by a centromere. |
| Centromere | A structure that holds sister chromatids together. |
| Mitosis | The division of a cell: its nucleus and contents. |
| Cytokinesis | The last part of telophase where the cytoplasm and its contents divide. |
| Daughter Cells | Two new cells that result from mitosis and cytokinesis. |
| Prophase | The phase in mitosis in which the chromosomes are visible and they begin to move to the center. |
| Metaphase | The phase in mitosis in which the chromosomes are lined up in the middle of the cell. |
| Anaphase | The phase in mitosis in which the chromosomes are separating into two different cells. |
| Telophase | The phase in mitosis in which cytokinesis takes place and two daughter cells are formed. |
