sol- sun, alone This year for our solo in band class, I played the Entertainer by Scott Joplin on the trumpet. We had to leave the solarium, as the room was unfortunately too crowded towards the middle of the afternoon.
spec- relating to the sense of sight; look, see It is different for people to speculate colors as senses are too complicated to be described.
ab- off; related to being away from something I have been absent from school because I have been sick with the flu.
im/in- not; something that is false I was very impatient with going back to school on Friday, and made the mistake in going. Because I came back feeling worse than I did before!
inter- inside or between Jim interfered a conversation going on when he thought he heard his name, rather only it being the name of some one else besides him.
mal- bad, opposite of good Malnutrition can lead to your body malfunctioning, and that is not a good thing.
uni- one South Carolina seceded from the union on December 20th, 1860.
-ee referring to a person that does something (on occasions in return of cash or something else) The employee got his paycheck the other day, which he finally got his first car!
-ette/-et small, feminine Jared fun making cookies in the kitchenette, feeling very accomplished.
-ian/-ion in the state of Ron sneezed so loud that even the tranquil librarian had to look off of the shelf to see what happened.
-ive having to do with I was attentive to the elections this year, as I have never been so politically involved in my life.
-ist a practice, doctrine or interest "The meteorologist reported that the windchill factor would get in to the negatives," my mother told me that morning.
pugn- attack The bully tried to impugn on the innocent bystander, as he had no one to defend him from the verbal attacks.
