| tides | occurs because of the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on earth's oceans |
| phase | the shape of the moon formed by the lighted part of the half that faces the earth |
| new moon | occurs when the unlighted half of the moon faces the earth |
| orbit | path an object follow(s)as it revolves around another object |
| rotation | spinning of a planet,moon, or star around its axis |

| low pressure | warm,moist air,storms, and overcast |
