What is the definition of a fossil? Definition - the remains or impression of a prehistoric organism preserved in petrified form or as a mold or cast in rock.
What is Sedimentary rock? Sedimentary: Formed from particles of sand, shells, pebbles, and other materials. Together is called sediment. They then accumulate in layers and harden into rock. Breaks apart easily.
What is Metamorphic rock? Rocks formed from the surface of the Earth from extreme heat and pressure; ribbon like layers and crystals on their surface
What is Igneous Rock? Igneous: When magma cools and hardens; Shiny and glass like and bubble like holes
What is the usual rock type to find fossils in? Sedimentary rock
