| Cell Membrane | Outside boundary which regulates what comes in and out of the cell |
| Organelles | tiny cell structures that carry specific functions within the cell |
| Cell Wall | Rigid non-living material that protects, supports, and surrounds plant cells |
| Nucleus | Controls all functions of the cell and contains chromatin (DNA) |
| Chromatin | genetic material that instructs cell function (DNA) |
| nuclear membrane | protects nucleus |
| Nucleolus | Where ribosomes are made |
| Cytoplasm | gel-like fluid between the nucleus and the cell membrane |
| Mitochondria | converts food energy into useable energy |
| endoplasmic reticulum | carries proteins and other materials from one part of the cell to another |
| Ribosomes | produce protein |
| Golgi bodies | receives proteins and other materials from endo retic and packages them up then distributes them to other arts of the cell |
| Chloroplasts | PLANTS ONLY converts sun energy into food energy |
| vacuoles | storage area |
| lysosomes | breaks down materials in cell |
