TermDefinition
allele is one of a number of alternative forms of the same gene or same genetic locus.
embryology is the branch of biology that studies the development of gametes fertilization, and development of embryos and fetuses.
enzyme are macromolecular biological catalysts. Enzymes accelerate, or catalyze, chemical reactions. The molecules at the beginning of the process are called substrates and the enzyme converts these into different molecules, called products.
mitosis is a part of the cell cycle in which chromosomes in a cell nucleus are separated into two identical sets of chromosomes, and each set ends up in its own nucleus.
biochemical conversion involves use of bacteria, microorganisms and enzymes to breakdown biomass into gaseous or liquid fuels, such as biogas or bioethanol.
biological diversity is the variety of different types of life found on Earth and the variations within species. It is a measure of the variety of organisms present in different ecosystems.
biotechnology engineering is a branch of engineering where technology is combined with biology for research & development.
biomass conversion biomass can be converted to other usable forms of energy like methane gas or transportation fuels like ethanol and biodiesel.
