extrusive igneous rocks Extrusive refers to the mode of igneous volcanic rock formation in which hot magma from inside the Earth flows out (extrudes) onto the surface as lava or explodes violently into the atmosphere to fall back as pyroclastics or tuff.
intrusive igneous rocks Intrusive rocks are igneous rocks that form from crystallized magma beneath the earth's surface.
crystal and crystal formation A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules, or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions.
fracture the cracking or breaking of a hard object or material.
silicate a salt in which the anion contains both silicon and oxygen, especially one of the anion SiO42
sedimentary rocks Rock that has formed through the deposition and solidification of sediment, especially sediment transported by water
igneous rocks Igneous rock (derived from the Latin word ignis meaning fire)
