Cells... and what make them up!
| Term | Definition |

| Diffusion | The movement of molecules from an area of high concentration to lower concentration. |
| Osmosis | The diffusion of water from an area of high concentration to lower concentration. |
| Nucleus | The control center of the cell. |
| Cell Membrane | The flexible boundary of the cell that is selective about what it lets in and out of the cell. |
| Cytoplasm | Fills the cell and helps support and move the organelles. |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum (E.R) | Can be smooth or rough. Rough E.R. contains ribosomes and helps to make and transport proteins. |
| Lysosome | Helps manage and get ride of waste in the cell. |
| Cell Wall | Only found in plant cells. Gives shape and structure to the cell. |
| Chloroplast | Only found in plant cells. Contains chlorophyll (green pigment) that helps plants make food. |
| Mitochondria | Powerhouse of the cell where chemical energy (from food) is transferred into mechanical energy for the cell. |
