GEOG EXAM 1

What is the atmosphere? Thin layers of gases that surrounds the Earth.
What part of the atmosphere do we live in? Trophosphere ( Chemical soup)
Why does air/water move? Unequal heating at the surface of the Earth. Warm air rises and pressure lowers at surface. Cold air sinks, pressure rises.
What are the main global atmospheric circulation cells and how do they affect climate and vegetation at the equator? Around 30 degrees latitude? At 60 degrees latitude? At the poles?
Provide three examples of why atmospheric circulation matters in our daily lives.
