| Rotation | The spinning motion of a planet on it's axis. |
| 24 hours | The amount of time it takes for one full rotation |
| Day and Night | Caused by rotation of the Earth on it's axis |
| Revolution | The movement of the Earth around the sun. |
| 365.25 days | The amount of time it takes for one full revolution. |
| years and seasons | What is created due to the Earth's revolution while tilted. |
| Seasons caused by | the 23.5 degree tilt of the Earth |
| Fall Equinox | around September 21st |
| Spring Equinox | around March 21st |
| Winter Solstice | around December 21st |
| Summer Solstice | around June 21st |
| Summer Solstice | more hours of day, tilted toward the sun, direct rays |
| Winter Solstice | fewest hours of daylight, tilted away from the sun, indirect rays |
| Fall Equinox | equal hours of day and night, 12 hours of each |
| Spring Equinox | equal hours of day and night, 12 hours of each |
