Genotype The entire genetic makeup of an organism
phenotype an organism's appearance or other detectable chacteristic
Heredity the passing of genetic traits from parents to offspring
Dominant trait the trait observed in first generation when parents that have different traits are bred.
Recessive trait a trait that is apparent only hen two recessive allele for the same characteristic are inherited
Gene one set of instructions for an inherited trait
Allele one of the alternative forms of a gene that governs a characteristic, such as hair.
probability the likelihood that a possible future evernt will occur in any given instance of the event
Purebread all of whose ancestors derive over many generations from a recognized breed.
Hybrid the offspring of two animals or plants of different breeds, varieties, species, or generas, especially as produced through human manipulation for specific genetic characteristics
Heterozygous when a cell contains two different allele of a gene
Homozygous when a cell contains the same two alleles of a gene.
