| variable | something that can change in a test |
| hypothesis | statement of what you think will happen during an investigation |
| control group | a standard against which change is measured |
| observation | something you find out about objects, events, or living things using your senses |
| procedures | step-by-step instructions for completing a task |
| experiment | the use of scientific methods to test hypothesis |
| inference | a conclusion based on observations |
| data | information from which a conclusion can be drawn or a prediction can be made |
| evidence | observations that make you believe someting is true |
| precision | the ability to consistantly repeat a measurement |
| accuracy | ability to make a meke a measurement that is as close to the actual value as possible |
| models | objects or ideas that represent certain things |
| survey | Questions that are answered by people. Great for opinion questions. |
| sampling | examine random individuals from a random population |
| independent variable | the variable u can control or change |
| dependent vairable | its is whats measured. changes when the independent varible changes. |
| experimental group | the group that doesnt get |
| control group | the group that gets the special treatment |
