Evolution and Genetics Terms

| Extinction | When an entire species dies off from Earth. |
| Genetic Mutation | A mistake in DNA that can lead to a new trait in an organism. |
| Camouflage | An adaptation when an organism can blend in with its environment. |
| Genetics | A branch of science that studies DNA, traits and inheritance. |
| Heredity | The passing down of traits from parent to child |
| Dominant trait | Part of the DNA that usually shows up in the new organism |
| Recessive trait | Part of the DNA that is not shown in an organism but gets passed down. |
